Health & hygiene update: 07/ 03/ 2020
In light of the developing public health situation of (Covid 19) - Corona Virus, I would like to let you know about the steps I have taken to ensure the ongoing health and safety of our yoga community.
My priority is to ensure that we all practice in a safe environment that is clean and sanitised.
In response to the advice from the Government on best management of personal hygiene in public
places, I encourage additional cleaning, isolation and sanitisation measures.
What We Are Doing:
• Yoga Mats & Props: Please BYO or use the ‘Wet Ones’ provided to wipe down before & after use.
• Eye Pillows: Please BYO or bring a light scarf to put over your eyes to create a barrier between your skin & the eye pillow.
• Bathrooms: As I don’t have control over the venue, please use the hand sanitiser or Wet Ones provided on entry, re-entry to the yoga room, after you have washed your hands, and before you exit.
Please BYO water bottles, I suggest you avoid using the venue cups.
Non-Cleaning Measures:
• Teacher-Student Interaction: Yoga Teachers will no longer use physical touch. Teachers will continue to offer verbal instruction.
What You Can Do:
• Do Your Part: We ask everyone to follow the directives of the Australian Government to self-
isolate if they have travelled to, or been in contact with someone from a high-risk country.
• Sharing Isn’t Caring: We ask you not to attend the studio if you are feeling unwell, in
particular if you are suffering from cold and flu symptoms.
• Personal Hygiene: We ask everyone to wash their hands thoroughly using soap and also to use
hand sanitiser or Wet Ones.
• Sneezing and Coughing: Please cover your mouth and nose completely with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, please leave the room if it becomes prolonged. Please be mindful of keeping any used tissues as close to you as possible and place in the bins provided at the end of class, and then wash your hands with soap & sanitise your hands with Wet Ones.
The measures above ensure our staff and customers can continue to enjoy our yoga and meditation
classes in a clean and sanitised environment.
Should you have any questions, comments or suggestions regarding the above, please contact us.
